Faculty Decisions Drive Textbook Adoption Process
Students, bookstores and faculty members are connected in a cycle of textbook selection and purchase. Faculty decisions determine what books are chosen for classes, and in turn, if the books will be used or new versions. These decisions directly impact the cost for students – used books save students' money.
We know you work hard to connect with faculty. In April 2008, the UTA presented “Used Textbooks Support Affordability” at the California Community Colleges Academic Senate state meeting. Faculty was educated on how timely adoptions lower costs to students and affect buying back textbooks from students. The information provided below is designed to help you take your communications to the next level.
