Michigan Association of College Stores Supports National Used Textbook Association
Omaha, Nebr., December 10, 2007 - As part of a nationwide initiative to help make college textbooks more affordable, the Michigan Association of College Stores (MACS) has formally endorsed the Used Textbook Association.
The Used Textbook Association (UTA) advocates the role and value of used textbooks in education. The UTA also focuses on improving faculty re-adoption rates for used books, and providing students the best prices for textbook purchase and buy back.
"MACS is a great networking group that is made up of 69 stores and 84 vendors. The stores are always looking for ways to make textbooks more affordable to their students," said Bradley Miller, President, Michigan Association of College Stores. "We believe a good used textbook program is the best way to accomplish this. The UTA supports our efforts to supply affordable textbooks to students."
MACS will work with the UTA to expand understanding of the value and advantages of used textbooks among both faculty and students.
"We are extremely pleased to receive the endorsement of MACS," said Jim Sheppard, Executive Director, UTA. "MACS is an extremely respected group. We recognize the tremendous value that this collaboration offers the UTA as we expand the reach of our message and membership."
